#79 - Most Viewed (This Month) - India

Yeah right.... our youtube channel (www.youtube.com/user/pointbreaknetworks) is the 79th most viewed channel this month. Thanx to Mr. Murugan for driving in a lot of crazy people into the channel. The interesting thing is that there was so much buzz in the web world even though there was hardly any visibility on-air. We were glad that people were atleast getting to watch these promos online. It's kind of frustrating otherwise because we had so much fun working on the campaign (except for some clashes in wavelength) and we wanted this entire new generation who haven't seen Quickgun before to enjoy these promos too. Honestly more could and should have been done to drive the film using the internet but whatever... this is suerly a lesson learnt. Quickgun Murugan in the days of quicker internet speeds is the quicket medium of promotion..........i say (not sure what the rest think)

Karam Bhoomi

This promo is a true survivor :) The first reaction after seeing the film was this one has to be a clincher. It was a part of every promo we had cut. For some odd reason it was bounced and bounced and bounced. We as a team had put our money on this but beyond a point could not push for it. So there came a point when this one literally out of the window. Sad but not disappointed. Knew end mein hero jeetega !!! The issue was the entire line "karambhoomi mera aangan, terrace mera neel gagan, eeee poora duniya mera neelgagan, mera naam murugun, quick gun murugun" had to be said be in a pace one did not want to cut the gaps between the lines too much. It needed its time to register and soak. Finally when we had cut some 5 options for the launch phase magic happened and we all agreed to go ahead with this one and trust me with no alterations at all. One of our favourite promos and one of the best written lines ever for a bollywood film. It will stay for a long time is what i have a feeling. am posting one of the best responses on this creative.
Theatre myera duniya he, aur duniya myera theatre
kanoon ka sirf haath lamba hai, mera to sab kuch..
Tera paas agar power hai, to myera paas torque hai
Tyera cement me jaan hai, mera jaan me cement hai
Tu das tak gin sakta hai, to main infinity tak
Weapons of Mass destruction Iraq me nahee, main chennai me rehta hoon

Not so Quick Gun Murugun

Murugun can destroy his enemies before they blink. Not so true with its makers. Its been 5 long years and finally it hits the screen on 28 th Aug. Hats off to Aanand, Shashanka and the entire team at Fox Star Studios. We at Point Break were super excited when we were called to pitch in for the theatrical and Tv promo campaign. Can never forget our first slide designed by Ghopal and written by yours truly. It said “Powerpoint is your tool , gunpoint is my tool. It set the tone on how corny are we lol. What followed was a set of pegs to be decided on the film. Truly speaking it is a tough film to crack. Its in English and Tamil and has versions in Hindi and Telegu. Just like there is no buttermilk bar the film has no language bar. It took us one tumbler whiskey a day and lots of masala dosa at Prime Focus canteen to crack the entire campaign which is still being developed as one writes this. Was speaking to shashanka and he was saying - 5 years for the film you are just 3 months old working on the promos. The movie is special and one has to see it to believe it. More on the movie and the campaign later. For now check out the links below. Happiness coz the trailers are one of the most discussed on youtube India as of today. Some as good as 9th most discussed and others 11th and there on. Trust me these links were not posted by us. More will follow in our next post. Jokes from shashanka, interactions, arguements, 24 25 battles, our brilliant set of team, corny lines and there on.- Suresh Triveni
